Essa semana tive a experiência de viajar de trem por aqui. Foi minha primeira vez (na FInlândia). E eu queria dividir com vocês.

Como temos carro desde sempre, as viagens são sempre de carro e não tive outras oportunidades de experimentar uma viagem de trem por aqui. Mas como desta vez meu esposo estava levando um carro para uma amiga, decidimos que iríamos todos, assim eu teria minha chance de viajar de trem finlandês e experimentar 4 horas de viagem com o bebê.

A companhia de trem finlandesa é a VR (agora estou na dúvida se é mesmo finalndesa). Você pode ter acesso ao site em finlandês, sueco e inglês. A VR cobre todas as direções do país, parando inclusive em algumas pequenas cidades. Para comprar os tickets pelo site é muito simples, mas como aproveitamos para dar uma caminhadinha por Helsinki, decidimos comprar na estação central de lá.

Os trens que vêm para Jyväskylä (onde eu moro) são o Pendolino e o Intercity (que tem dois andares). Nós viemos no Intercity. Ficamos no vagão 4, onde tem espaço para o carrinho do bebê (a mesma área também serve para cadeirantes) e vem Jyväskylä sem precisar fazer baldiação em Tampere. Então vou comentar sobre minha experiência no Intercity.

O trem é bem espaçoso, conta com restaurante, playground, área para pets, cabine para alérgicos, cabine para ligações e áreas de trabalho. Bem sinalizado para saber onde está seu assento, restaurante, banheiro e tal. Para as mamães, tem trocador no trem (e nós usamos e foi bem tranquilo) e até a chance de esquentar a mamadeira! Há telas informando as próximas paradas. As janelas são enormes e o trem fica muito claro, inclusive há uma cortina que pode ser baixada se a claridade estiver incomodando (afinal, vivemos no país que tem o sol da meia-noite, né?!). Os assentos contam com tomadas para carregar celular, laptop, etc. e, no nosso caso, tínhamos também uma mesinha, são reclináveis e têm os números escritos também em braile. Para quem paga um pouco mais, tem mais espaço no assento e jornal do dia. Ah! E o trem tem WiFi funcionando muito bem durante toda a viagem.

Não tenho muita experiência em viagens de trem, mas achei o mais silencioso que já viajei. Embora no site diga que a velocidade dele atinge até 160km/h, durante certo trecho alcançou 192km/h sem nenhuma dificuldade. As informações são relatadas pelo condutor em finlandês, mas as próximas paradas são anunciadas automaticamente em finlandês, sueco e inglês. Chegamos apenas 7 minutos atrasados, apesar das várias paradas.

Termino dizendo que a viagem foi tranquila e foi boa o suficiente para me convencer a usar o trem mais vezes.

This week I had the experience of traveling by train here. It was my first time (in Finland). And I would like to share with you.

As we have always car, trips are always by car and I haven’t had other opportunities to experience a train trip here. But as this time my husband was taking a car to a friend, we decided that we would all go, so I’d have my chance to travel by Finnish train and experience 4 hours of travel with the baby.

The Finnish train company is VR (Now I’m wondering… is it Finnish?). You can have access to the website in Finnish, Swedish and English. The VR covers all directions of the country, stopping even in some small cities. To buy the tickets through the website is very simple, but as we took a hike through Helsinki, we decided to buy at the central station there.

The trains coming to Jyväskylä (where I live) are the Pendolino and the Intercity (which has two floors). We came at Intercity. We stayed in wagon 4, where there is room for the baby stroller (the same area is also suitable for wheelchairs) and comes to Jyväskylä without having to change train in Tampere. So I’ll comment on my Intercity experience.

The train is very spacious with restaurant, playground, pets area, private cabin for allergic people, cabins for calls and work areas. By the map is easy to know where your seat is, restaurant, bathroom and such. For moms, there is a place to change your baby on the train (and we used it and it was very handy) and even the chance to warm the bottle! There are screens informing the next stops. The windows are huge and the train is very bright, even there is a curtain that can be lowered if the light is bothering (after all, we live in the country that has the midnight sun, right?!). The seats have sockets to charge cell phone, laptop, etc. and, in our case, we also had a small table, are reclining and have the numbers written also in Braille. For those who pay a little more, there is more space in the seat and newspaper of the day. Ah! And the train has WiFi running very well throughout the trip.

I don’t have much experience in train travel, but I find it the quietest I’ve ever traveled. Although the site says that the speed of it reaches up to 160 km/h, during a certain stretch reached 192 km/h without any problem. The information is reported by the driver in Finnish, but the next stops are automatically announced in Finnish, Swedish and English. We arrived just 7 minutes late, despite the various stops.

I would say that the trip was calm and was good enough to convince me to use the train more often.

Eu sei que parece que agora só falo nisso, maternidade e bebê e tal… mas é o momento que estou vivendo, então queria compartilhar algo bem interessante com vocês.

Já havia comentado sobre a caixa do governo que ganhamos durante a gravidez. Mas o que faltou mencionar no post anterior foi que ganhamos outros presentinhos também. Achei bem interessante que por aqui há todo esse cuidado em demonstrar interesse não somente nas coisas óbvias, como a saúde da mãe e do bebê, mas também há o cuidado com a relação do casal, os sentimentos da mãe e até este “bem-estar” provido pelos presentinhos, por exemplo.

Ah! Preciso lembrar que estou falando da Neuvola do bairro onde eu moro, não sei dizer se em toda a Finlândia elas são assim tão amorosas. Talvez diferentes Neuvolas tenham contatos com fornecedores diferentes e, obviamente, tenham presentinhos diferentes.

Na primeira visita da Neuvola (e sim, ela vem em casa assim que retornamos da maternidade), ela pesou nosso bebê, observou a amamentação e deu dicas, conversou com a gente e passou diversos papéis informativos sobre a chegada do bebê na família e os cuidados nas primeiras semanas. Mas, também ganhamos uma pequena caixa com brindes de duas empresas, a Mummi, com lenços umedecidos, absorventes, etc. e a Minisun com vitamina D, um chocalho para o bebê e um desenho bem colorido para colocar no trocador e distrair o bebezinho durante a troca.

Quando nosso filho completou um mês de vida e tivemos a consulta do primeiro mês, além dos procedimentos normais da consulta, ganhamos uma sacolinha com brinde e cartão presente. Além de informações da Mannerheimin Lastensuojeluliito, que é uma organização que cuida do bem-estar da criança e nos deu um tubinho tipo cachecol pro bebê, também sobre natação para bebês da escola de natação Pikku Joutsen, dois bolos e cafés da AA Bakery (um café delicioso que abriu aqui em Säynätsalo) e um cartão presente pra massagem facial e para as mãos, que eu ainda preciso ir, na Kauneushoitola Pistaasi.

Enfim, os presentinhos todos foram muito úteis e, pessoalmente, achei um diferencial legal esse cuidado com a mãe no pós-parto, já que, quase automaticamente, a gente fica meio de lado.

I know it seems like I’m just talking about it, motherhood and baby and such … but this is the moment I’m living, so I would like to share something I found very interesting with you guys.

I had already commented on the government box we got during pregnancy. But what I forgot to mention in the previous post was that we got other goodies too. I found it very interesting that here there is an interest not only in the obvious things, such as the health of the mother and the baby, but also the care with the couple’s relationship, the mother’s feelings and even this “well-being ” provided by the gifts, for example.

Ah! I need to remember that I’m talking about the Neuvola in the neighborhood where I live, I do not know if in Finland they are so lovely too. Maybe different Neuvolas have contacts with different suppliers and obviously have different gifts.

At Neuvola’s first visit (and yes, she comes home as soon as we return from the maternity), she weighed our baby, observed my breastfeeding and gave me tips, talked to us and gave us several informative papers about the baby’s arrival in the family and the care in the first few weeks. But we also got a small box with gifts from two companies, the Mummi, with moistened wipes, hygienic naps and such and Minisun with D vitamin, a baby rattle and a very colorful draw to put on the nursing and distract the little baby during changing his diapers.

When our son was one month we had an appointment, besides the normal procedures of the consultation, we got a little bag with papers, a gift and gift cards. In addition to information from Mannerheimin Lastensuojeluliito, which is a child welfare organization, we got a tube-scarf for the baby, also about swimming for babies at the Pikku Joutsen swimming school, two cakes and coffees from AA Bakery (a delicious cafe that opened last year here in Säynätsalo) and a gift card for facial and hand massage, which I still need to go to, at the Kaistaushoitola Pistaasi.

Anyway, all the goodies were very useful and personally I found a legal differential this care with the mother in the postpartum, since, almost automatically, we are half way.
