Tanta coisa aconteceu desde o último post… mas resumidamente: a “crise” ou a “primeira onda” do COVID-19 passou por aqui; minhas amigas que viriam me visitar, tiveram que cancelar sua viagem; nos mudamos para um apartamento maior, mas há apenas alguns metros de onde morávamos antes; estamos terminando de pintar por aqui pra deixar com a nossa cara; por causa da mudança, fiquei sem computador (não, não perdi… mas ainda não montamos a mesa e essas coisas); o verão chegou.

Enfim, não sumi. Mas estive bem ocupada!

Então, atualizando sobre a situação do COVID-19 (que talvez seja a pergunta que mais tenho recebido), estamos relativamente bem. A Finlândia meio que relaxou algumas restrições, um pouco porque os casos realmente diminuíram muito, mas também porque agora começaram as férias escolares e alta temporada na Europa. A fronteira continua fechada para alguns países, mas já abriu (com certa cautela) para outros. Talvez a situação mais “estranha” para pessoas de outros países seja o fato de que por aqui as pessoas não estão usando máscaras de proteção, pois é, existem pesquisadores dizendo que é melhor sem, existem outros que dizem que é imprescindível o uso… enfim, talvez porque aqui as pessoas já sempre praticaram a tal “distância social” que o uso da máscara parece irrelevante. Não sei, pode ser. Posso estar totalmente errada. Pessoalmente, costurei minhas máscaras, já usei, já parei de usar, já nem sei mais o que fazer… De qualquer forma, a situação aqui está bem controlada, como vocês podem ver aqui embaixo:

Mas saindo do assunto do momento e falando de coisa boa… mudamos de apartamento! Agora meu filho tem um quarto pra chamar de dele, temos uma sauna pra chamar de nossa, uma cozinha e banheiro mais novinhos que o apartamento anterior, uma vista de cair o queixo na sacada e muitas ideias pra decorar esse lugarzinho novo. Aliás, se você tem Instagram, eu fiz uma conta pra compartilhar essas ideias e os pequenos projetos que estamos trabalhando aqui, mesmo sendo um apartamento alugado. E pra encerrar, sim… estamos na semana mais quente do ano (pelo menos até agora). A previsão do tempo diz que vai passar dos 30 graus! E a gente aqui na expectativa de um calorzinho pra ir à praia (no lago) e marcar a vontade de nadar um pouquinho. E o calor é bom por vários motivos, especialmente porque faz as blueberries e os morangos crescerem rapidinho e bem docinhos! Me aguardem com mais atualizações. Até mais!

So much has happened since the last post … but in short: the “crisis” or “first wave” of COVID-19 passed through here; my friends who were coming to visit me had to cancel their trip; we moved to a bigger apartment, but only a few meters far from where we used to live; we are finishing painting here; because of the moving, I am without computers (no, I haven’t lost it… but we haven’t set up the table and stuff yet); and summer is finally here.

Anyway, I’m not gone. But I was very busy!

So, updating on the situation of COVID-19 (which is perhaps the most frequently asked question), we are relatively fine. Finland kind of relaxed some restrictions, partly because the cases really decreased a lot, but also because now the school holidays and high season in Europe have started. The border remains closed for some countries, but has already opened (with some caution) for others. Perhaps the most “weird” situation for people from other countries is the fact that people are not wearing protective masks here, maybe because there are researchers saying it is better without it, but there are others who say it is essential to use it. Don’t know. Perhaps because people here culturally have always practiced such “social distance” that wearing a mask seems irrelevant. I don’t really know, but it could be. Or I may be totally wrong. Personally, I sewed my own facial masks, I’ve used them, then I stopped using them, honestly I don’t even know what else to do… Anyway, the situation here is well controlled, as you can see in those pictures above.

Now changing the subject… we moved a new apartment! Now my son has a room to call his own, we have a sauna to call ours, a kitchen and bathroom that are brand new, an amazing view on the balcony and lots of ideas to decorate this new place. Actually, if you have an Instagram account, know that I created an account to share these ideas and all the small projects we are working on here, even though it is a rental apartment. And to end this post, yes… we are in the hottest week of the year (at least so far). The forecast says it will be over 30 degrees! And we are dying for that heat so we can go to the beach (in the lake) to swim a little. This heat is good for several reasons, for example it makes blueberries and strawberries grow quickly and sweet! Wait for me with more updates. See you!
